Banners honor Clintonville seniors

No decision yet on commencement ceremony

With no official decision yet as to how the Clintonville School District will handle its graduation ceremony, it has moved forward with additional ways to recognize graduating seniors.

“With the order to close schools for the remainder of the school year, school-sponsored activities are not permitted on school grounds through June 30,” Superintendent David Dyb said.

He said the district’s principals have been communicating with other schools, as well as students and families to explore potential ideas to recognize the Class of 2020.

Dyb said the district has been active on social media with a countdown of photos of CHS seniors.

Banners have also been created, one for each graduating senior. Each banner includes a photo of the student and the student’s name.

The banners have been hung on a chain link fence next to the football field by Clintonville High School.

The banners are facing the street, so family and friends of each student, as well as members of the community can drive down the street and view the banners.

The banners were paid for by the senior class and the Clintonville School District.

Dyb said the banners will be given to the students when they are taken off the fence.

Also, to honor senior students and spring athletes who missed out on their sports seasons, the lights at the football field were turned on from 8-9 p.m. Friday, May 1.
