Richard C. Koontz, age 90, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca.
He was born in Duluth, MN on November 9, 1929, a son of the late Raymond and Lucille (Chalmers) Koontz. He married Lois Redman on November 28, 1950. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2018. Richard served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as an Imaging Technician at the Waupaca Foundry until his retirement. Richard enjoyed Military history, scrap booking, Duluth history, cartooning, movie and music history trivia, short story writing, Military and Navy modeling and was a model hobbyist.
Survivors include his children, James (Rose) Koontz, Waupaca, WI; Susan (Carol) Koontz, Appleton, WI; grandchildren, Kaylyn Koontz, Waupaca, WI; William Koontz, Waupaca, WI. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife – Lois.
