Free masks offered

Available at three sites in Waupaca

Free masks will be available at three sites in Waupaca for community members who want them.

The masks were expected to be available at the Waupaca Area Public Library, Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office and Fleet Farm beginning on Thursday, May 14.

Members of the Waupaca Medical Masks group made them from donated material.

One-hundred masks are to be available at each of the three sites.

The masks are for adults.

Those who pick them up are being directed to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for information about how to properly wear and remove the masks.

The masks should also be washed and dried in a dryer before being worn.

Library staff members are asking those who request materials for curbside pickup if they need a mask.

That is how the masks donated to the library are being distributed.

At the sheriff’s office and by Fleet Farm’s customer service area, community members may pick a free mask out of a bin.

There will be posters on the bins with information about the site.

The Waupaca Medical Masks group formed on March 21, to sew masks for ThedaCare in Waupaca and area nursing homes.

With those orders complete, the group of more than 300 members is now turning its effort to sewing masks for adults in the community.
