Janet “Jan” D. Noble, age 72 of the Town of Larrabee, Waupaca County, passed away Thursday evening, May 21, 2020 at her home with her family at her side following a hard fought battle with cancer.
Janet Dorothy Thompson was born on January 16, 1948 in Fargo, ND as the daughter of the late Frank and Adeline (Stohle) Thompson. Jan grew up in North Dakota where she met James Noble. The couple were united in marriage on January 10, 1969 in Baker, MN and inseparable ever since. James’ career as a veterinarian took the couple to a few different communities throughout the country and eventually landed them in Clintonville in 1980. Jan worked in the office at the Clintonville Veterinary Clinic from 1984-1986 prior to taking an office job at Klein Chevrolet in town for the next decade. After that, Jan worked some in retail and retired in 2003. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Clintonville since 1989 where she served on the auction and memorial committees, and also served as a communion steward. Jan was active in the Clintonville community as a member of the Clintonville Public School Curriculum Committee and the Veterinary Ladies Auxiliary. She met many friends while curling at the Clintonville Curling Club, playing bridge with Marathon Bridge Club and Big Bridge Club, golfing at Riverside Golf Club, and delivering meals for the local Meals on Wheels program. She was very proud to be a cancer survivor since 2014 and battled the illness on and off for many years. Jan had a passion for crafting, planning vacations, and traveling with her family. She will be remembered for being a loyal friend and for the love she had for her whole family.
Survivors include: her husband, James; daughters: Aaryn (Brian) Feile, Adrienne (Ryan) Benbrooks, and Alecia (Matt) Presendofer; grandchildren: Garret, Amara, and Lanyon Feile; Avery, Aiden, and Noble Benbrooks; and Laela, Liam, and Gavin Presendofer; her brother, Frank (Judy) Thompson; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Jan was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom and Fred Thompson, and a sister Jeanne Walker.
A public celebration of Jan’s life will be held at a later date. Her family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the attentive care Jan received during her fight with cancer. They would also like to thank her dedicated friends for all the support they gave through meals, flowers, cards, and visits during this time.
