McRann, LaVern L.

LaVern L. McRann, age 84 of Manawa, passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Manawa Community Living Center.

LaVern Lillian (Sanders) McRann was born on June 27, 1935 in Clintonville, daughter to the late Leon and Martha (Schoess) Sanders. She attended school in Clintonville and graduated from Clintonville High School in 1953. She was married two years later on June 28, 1955 to James “Jim” E. McRann; the couple had dated since their school days. LaVern worked for A&W, Clintonville; Hansen Glove Factory, Clintonville; Georgia Pacific, New London; and F.W.D Seagrave, Clintonville. She also worked diligently along with Jim on their farm and raised a family. They were able to travel to the Gulf of Mexico and to various places around the country, but really enjoyed the time spent up at their vacation home and property near Elcho, WI. In her younger years, LaVern played many different instruments and earned first-chair in her high school orchestra; she was also a gifted singer. She enjoyed trying her luck at the casino, a good game of Bingo, and watching both Poker and figure-skating on television.

Survivors include: children: Guy (Lisa) McRann, Bear Creek; Susan (Gary) Schoenike, Manawa; and Greg (Jennifer) McRann, Clintonville; grandchildren: Ashley McRann, Abigail and Andrew Schoenike, and James and Noah McRann; a sister, Audrey Blackford; also, several nieces and nephews. LaVern was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jim; a sister, Penny Sanders; and sisters-in-law, Mary (Harold) Eulrich and Nellie (Arnie) Starcheska.

A private family interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville with the Rev. Steven Rice officiating. The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory of Clintonville is entrusted with her arrangements.

LaVern’s family would like to thank the staff members of the Manawa Community Living Center and Heartland Hospice for the wonderful care during her time there.
