A 71-year-old man drowned in the Wolf River shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30.
According to the New London Police Department, the man fell into the river near the Shawano Street bridge.
Several witnesses pulled him from the water and attempted CPR prior to police, ambulance and First Responders arriving.
Life saving measures were unsuccessful.
New London police have not released the victim’s name.
