Library allows restricted access

Visitors may use computers, browse materials by appointment

The Clintonville Public Library announced plans for providing public access to the library building.

On July 2, the library began allowing access to use computers, copier, or fax machine, as well as browsing materials in the building by appointment.

The library’s plan is to allow a gradual reopening of the building as they continue to follow guidelines provided by the Center for Disease Control, Department of Public Instruction, as well as state and local Departments of Health.

Guidelines for accessing building

• Appointments can be scheduled between 9-5 on Mondays and Thursdays and 4-8 on Tuesdays.

• Appointments for the computers will be 1 hour, while browsing appointments will be 30 minutes.

• Currently, the library only allows adults over 18 in the building.

• Everyone who enters the building is required to wear a mask. For patrons who forget their mask or do not have one, the library has a limited number of disposable masks available.

• The bathrooms and water fountain will not be accessible.

• When browsing, if an individual touches any items and does not check them out, the items will need to be placed on a shelf and quarantined for 72 hours.

• When checking out materials, patrons must use the self-check and utilize the hand sanitizer near the machine.

• Do not hand any items directly to staff. Place anything that needs to be given to staff on the desk. This also includes when paying for copies and printouts.

• Due to social distancing requirements, library staff can provide very limited assistance.

• There will be a hand sanitizer station set up in the entryway that all entering and exiting the building should use.

• If someone in the library (staff or patron) tests positive for COVID-19, the library will suspend appointments for browsing, computers, and curbside pickup.

• Patrons can only sign up for one of the services at a time. They cannot sign up for computer access and then browse the stacks.

• Staff will provide further instructions upon making an appointment.

Call 715-823-4563 to set up an appointment for one of these services.

During this time, the library will continue to provide curbside pickup along with virtual programming and electronic materials from Libby and Hoopla.
