Crash closes U.S. 10

Both drivers injured Sunday

One person was airlifted following a two-vehicle crash shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, July 12.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office reports that an eastbound vehicle rear-ended another eastbound vehicle on U.S. Highway 10, east of County Trunk F in rural Weyauwega.

The vehicle that was hit from behind entered the median and overturned several times.

The driver and sole occupant of the struck vehicle was flown to the hospital by ThedaStar.

The other driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.

The eastbound lanes on U.S. 10 were closed for approximately an hour.

The traffic crash remains under investigation at this time.

No names have been released at this time.
