Curry, Prudence M.

Prudence Marjory Curry changed addresses on May 29, 2020.

She was the beloved mother of, and is survived by her sons: Peter, Jamey, and Shea Curry and her sister, Wendy Seaman. She was the aunt and grand-aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Prudence was born in Milwaukee, WI on Dec. 29, a bonus Christmas present to Emily and Heinz Buss and her siblings: Donald, Roger, and Wendy. She was raised in Greendale, WI and graduated from Bayview High School. She graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in International Affairs. Prudence was a very kind, thoughtful, and nurturing woman. She was an extremely talented writer, poet, calligrapher, and visual artist. She had strong virtues and an unwavering faith that helped her navigate many of life’s crises and raise three successful sons as a single mother. A passionate educator, she made a living as a substitute teacher in Waupaca and surrounding school districts. Ever-active in the church community, she loved teaching Sunday School. She loved to sing, dance, swim, and spend time with her three sons, whom she always claimed as her legacy to the world. Her spirit remains very much alive in the hearts and minds of all who love her.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Waupaca on Saturday, August 8 at 9 a.m. The service will be held in the Garden of Blessings. To RSVP, please contact Barb Conrad at [email protected] or (715) 256-7709.
