Man charged with burglary

Suspect accused of moving into family’s hunting cabin

Richard Terran Jr., 40, Winneconne, is charged with burglary in Waupaca County.

On July 6, deputies found Terran in a pickup truck in a garage on Buelow Road in the town of Lebanon.

He would not respond, and the officers transported him to the New London hospital.
The owner of the property informed deputies that he believed a man had been living in his hunting cabin.

He said he had been at the property to mow the lawn on July 5. When he went into the cabin, he noticed an odd smell, but thought nothing of it.

A neighbor called him on July 6 and said a man had been at the cabin.

According to the criminal complaint, when the owner returned to his cabin, he discovered his shotgun was missing.

He grabbed a rifle and went into the loft.

He did not find anybody there, but he found evidence that someone had been living in the loft.

Hunting clothes had been piled on the floor to make bedding. Under the pile of clothes, the cabin owner found his missing shotgun.

He also found a case of water, several empty bottles, five bottles with urine in them and a bottle of vodka.

The cabin owner’s family noted a range finder, boots, scent-blocker pants, slippers were missing.
The complaint says Terran was wearing some of these items, while others were found in a backpack he had.
