Meth bust follows drug deal

Police report CI making controlled meth buys

Mark A. Leavitt Jr., 37, New London, is charged with two counts of delivery of methamphetamine, one count of delivery of LSD and one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

He is currently in custody on a $5,000 cash bond.

New London investigators say Leavitt sold the drugs to a confidential informant.

According to the criminal complaint, the CI arranged to meet with Leavitt and buy 2 grams of meth and a table of LSD.

On July 22, the CI met with Leavitt again.

Police say the CI paid Leavitt $200 for 3.2 grams of meth.

Immediately following the transaction, officers followed the vehicle in which Leavitt was a passenger.

After making a traffic stop, police reported finding 9 grams of meth and a digital scale.

Leavitt was charged as a repeat offender due to a felony identity theft conviction on May 5, 2017, in Outagamie County, and misdemeanor marijuana and felony bail jumping convictions on May 8, 2017, in Waupaca County.

He also has four OWI convictions.

Leavitt faces up to 12 1/2 years in prison if convicted of delivery of methamphetamine, plus an additional six years as a repeater.
