Heling, Esther “Mae”

Esther “Mae” Heling, age 88 of Shawano passed away Thursday morning, August 6, 2020 at the ThedaCare Medical Center in Shawano.

Esther Mae Kolosso was born on May 20, 1932 in Big Falls as the daughter of the late Joseph and Esther (Swenson) Kolosso. She graduated from Marion High School and was married in 1951; having two sons, Leonard and Michael. She moved to Clintonville as a young woman and joined Christus Lutheran Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School and was a faithful member ever since. She took care of the bookkeeping for their family business and later worked for Baker Canning, Clintonville, in the labeling department and warehouse. More recently, Mae worked for Hardee’s in Shawano for 17 years until her retirement. She loved traveling with her partner; Leroy, was an excellent homemaker, and always made family her top priority.

Survivors include: her son, Leonard (Gail) Heling, Shawano; daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Heling, Neenah; partner, Leroy Dominowski, Shawano; grandchildren: Carrie (Roger) Heling, Shawano; Casey Heling, Bonduel; Shannon (Kersten) Heling, Pulaski; Shane (Gina) Heling, Oshkosh; and Danielle Heling, Neenah; step-grandchildren: Jaimee (Matt) Brady, Cape Girardeau, MO; Angela Quinn, Green Bay; and Charles (Krystal) Gordon III, Wittenberg; 14 great-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and two step great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Buch, Neenah and Darlene (Harold) Schreiber, Shawano; also, a sister-in-law, Erna Bock, Bear Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Michael, a daughter-in-law Joanne Heling, and siblings: Phyllis (Wilbern) Kratzke, Joseph (Maxine) Kolosso, Anthony Kolosso, and Jennie Zimmer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will take place at Big Falls Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. www.eberhardtstevenson.com
