Suspect charged with felony theft

Warrants issued for Durand’s arrest

Three counties have issued warrants for the arrest of Ronald J. Durand II, formerly of Manawa.

Waupaca County charged the 42-year-old Durand with felony theft by contractor on July 21 and issued an arrest warrant.

According to the criminal complaint, an Iowa resident reported she sent Durand $2,700 on March 22, 2019, for a new roof.

She said the check was cashed but no work was ever done.

On May 8, 2019, Brown County charged Durand with issuing worthless checks and issued an arrest warrant.

On Jan. 3, Dane County charged him with misdemeanor theft and issued an arrest warrant.

On April 7, 2014, Waupaca County convicted Durand of three counts of felony theft by false representation.

According to that criminal complaint, Durand sold tickets to professional and college football games via Craig’s List to dozens of people throughout the country.

He took their money but the victims never received their tickets.

Then-Judge Philip Kirk placed Durand on three years of probation and ordered him to pay $21,342 in restitution.

Durand’s current whereabouts are unknown.
