Gloria Jean Forester Gruer passed away peacefully on August 20, 2020, just 12 days shy of her 96th birthday.
Gloria, also known as Grammy, Glo and Momma Gru, was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She was a Master Gardener, Brownie Troop Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, a frequent volunteer and a good friend to many throughout her long life. Glo lived life with a twinkle in her eye, a sense of humor and an infectious laugh. In her 70s and 80s she loved to travel the world on “walking” trips with the Adventure Women. Glo believed that you should “grow where you are planted” and she certainly fulfilled that promise in her homes of St. Louis, Missouri; Hamilton, Ohio and Waupaca, Wisconsin.
Gloria will be missed by her children, Jackie, Marty and Jeff; her sister Carol; her grandchildren, Jenna, Brenda and Patrick and her great-grandchildren, Sam and Emily. Her husband of 66 years, Albert Wm. Gruer, passed away in 2014. She will be buried with Al at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
