Buckholt, Ronald Clair

Ronald Clair Buckholt, age 80, of Almond, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2020 at his home.

He was born October 15, 1939 in Waupaca, WI, son of the late Clair Oral and Olive (McCandless) Buckholt. On June 8, 1957, he married Helen Nelson at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Almond, WI. Ron spent most of his life living in Almond, WI. He worked for a telephone company as a technician, but his true love was working on his farm and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ron was extremely proud of his family and always looked forward to having them together. Words cannot explain the great loss we feel, but knowing how much he loved us will help us to carry on.

Ron is survived by his wife, Helen (Nelson) Buckholt of Almond; four children: Rick (Peggy Koeshall) Buckholt of Hancock, Sandy (Joe Janssen) Stiebs of Waupaca, Paul (Julie Harling) Buckholt of Milwaukee, and Sherry (Cliff) Forseth of Almond; fifteen grandchildren: Joshua and Jennifer Buckholt, Melody and Cory Reichoff, Jason and Katrina Stiebs, Thomas and Megan Buckholt, Rachael and Al Gonzalez, Megan (Justin Basterash) Buckholt, Michelle and Joshua Lembcke, Danielle Forseth and Paige Forseth; seven great-grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in Almond, WI with Father Peter Manickam presiding. A visitation will be held on Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in First Belmont Cemetery in Town of Belmont, Portage County, WI. Due to the Covid-19 and St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church guidelines, there may only be 75-100 people attending the mass at one time with the wearing of masks and physical distancing observed. The family would like to invite everyone to attend the luncheon at Brainard’s Bridge Park in Waupaca at 1:00 p.m. The Hardell-Holly Funeral Home of Almond is assisting the family with arrangements.
