Manawa Art Tour set for Sept. 19

Event to be include art, basket raffle

The Manawa Revitalization Committee will host the third annual Community Art Tour.

The tour will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at various business locations throughout Manawa.

“Our small town is working hard to stay strong and vibrant even during these unusual times,” said Ronda Mollica, the tour’s co-chairperson. “Jewelry makers, carvers, painters, musicians, photographers and much more will be on hand that day to inspire others.”

This is the type of event that fits the overall vision of the Revitalization Committee, according to Mollica.

“We are inviting folks to visit our businesses while at the same time meet an interesting artist from the area,” she said. “It is a blend that has been a success in the past. Hosting events and bringing people to town is one way to help our community.”

A free trolley will be available for transport from one end of the tour to the other.

Brochures with the map of businesses and trolley stops will be found on Facebook or at any of the participating businesses. Each business will be indicated with a large potted mum and numbered sign.

An art and basket raffle will be held at Winemaker’s Daughter, with tickets available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Winners will be announced at 3 p.m. and do not need to be present to win. Proceeds will go to future Manawa Revitalization projects and events.

“We are also excited to work in conjunction with the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park, who will be holding a car show and pig roast starting at 10 a.m.,” Mollica said.

The car show and pig roast will be held at the park, located behind the Sturm Memorial Library.

The Art Tour is free to the public.
