Dennis W. Gibbs, age 59, of Waupaca, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at his home in Waupaca, WI.
He was born April 16, 1960 in Patuxent River, Maryland, son of Donald and Marianne (Verdon) Gibbs. Denny graduated in 1978 from Waupaca High School. Most of his working years you could find Denny making pizzas for the Wheelhouse Restaurant, The Filling Station, and most recently for Festive Foods in Waupaca. Denny had a passion for photography and took classes at Fox Valley Tech to enhance his skills. He loved the outdoors and that is where he took his photo inspiration from. Denny could see the beauty in nature that most people ignored. He had such a big heart, a creative eye for photography, a smile that greeted everyone he met with friendship. Now it’s his turn to fly with the eagles, high to the heavens, pound on the clouds to make thunder and lightning, be peaceful and quiet with the bears and the wood ducks, sit gently with the dragonflies, grow wild with the mushrooms, and ride the wind with the freight trains. We lost a gentle soul that his family will always miss.
Denny is survived by his six siblings: Randy (Lynette) Gibbs of Porterfield, WI; Jeff Gibbs of Weyauwega, WI; Brion Gibbs of Fremont, WI; Sue Davidson of Tucson, AZ; Michelle Roggenbauer of Waupaca, WI, and Bruce Gibbs of Rosholt, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marianne Gibbs.
A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Sheridan Village Cemetery in Waupaca followed by a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Denny’s life at the Crystal Lounge, 1332 Churchill Street, Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
