Fundraising for New London murals
The Wolf River Art League (WRAL) has surpassed its 40 mural goal this summer and businesses are seeking more paintings.
To keep the movement going, the league is sponsoring squares on Amazing Low Prices’ exterior east wall through the final weeks of September.
Amazing Low Prices is located at 210 Wisconsin St.
Participants can create an idea for a square or multiple squares.
They can use their business or organization logo, create a family tree, share a favorite quote or commemorate a special person or event.
Each idea should be positive, or reflect one’s love for New London.
For inspiration, walk up to the south wall of the Amazing Low Prices building that was painted last year.
For those who paint their idea, the cost is $5 per square.
If WRAL artists paint it, the cost is $10 per square.
WRAL supplies the paint, which is the same paint used to create murals, a Sherwin Williams 20-year guarantee paint.
The group also supplies brushes, water, rags, and inspiration.
Participants may bring their own brushes if they have them.
Times and dates when a WRAL member will be available to assist:
• 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17.
• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
• 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 19.
• 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Sept. 21.
• 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 23.
As more times and dates are open, they will be updated on the Facebook page and on a sign in front of the fundraising wall.
