WCEDC offers new loan program

Interest-free loans to support e-commerce
The Waupaca County Economic Development Corporation is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to engage, mobilize and partner with various stakeholders to develop and sustain vibrant communities throughout Waupaca County.
That goal is achieved through the numerous programs the WCEDC operates or accesses which provide assistance to businesses, local governments, schools, other nonprofit organizations, employees and residents.
All of the WCEDC programs are made possible because of the monetary support received from its public and private partners.
Clintonville, Fremont, Iola, Marion, Manawa, New London, Waupaca and Weyauwega have joined Waupaca County as the primary funding sources for the WCEDC.
Two years ago, the WCEDC lost a federal funding source, so several local businesses have stepped in to fill that gap.
First State Bank, Premier Community Bank, Walker Forge, Waupaca Foundry, Quantum Dairy and First Business Bank all financially support the work of the WCEDC.
That work includes loan programs for businesses.
The WCEDC unveiled a new loan program as a direct response to the health crisis that has caused a severe disruption to the economy.
The WCEDC E-Commerce Loan Program provides funding and expertise to help small businesses expand the amount of customers they reach by developing a strong online presence.
In the first year, businesses that participate in the program and meet repayment requirements will receive an interest-free loan.
