Drug bust in Clintonville

Police find 32 grams of suspected heroin

Clintonville police responded to a request for a welfare check that led to a heroin arrest.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, officers were dispatched to the local Kwik Trip.

A caller reported that a female customer appeared intoxicated and she had a child with her.

While the officers were speaking with the woman regarding the complaint, she reportedly reached into her pocket and several bags of white powder, identified as heroin, fell to the ground.

Investigators said they found 28 bags of suspected heroin that weighed a total of 32 grams.

Police arrested Catherine J. Beckwith, 47, Minocqua.

On Monday, Oct. 19, prosecutors charged Beckwith for possession of narcotics with intent to deliver.

Judge Raymond Huber set a $1,500 cash bond as a condition of her release.

She remains in custody.

Police arranged for a responsible adult to take custody of the child who was with Beckwith.
