Waupaca team teaches hunter safety
A local group of hunter education instructors has received a state award from the Wisconsin Wildlife Federation.
The Waupaca Hunter Safety Team has been named the federation’s Hunter Safety Team of the Year.
Team members include Becca Diekmann, Coltin Polifka, Jenni Swenson, Jim Machamer, Tom Mitchell, Jesse Schulz, Ross Blelema, Paul Piencikowski, Evan Abrahamson, Phil Blohm, Amanda Bronk, Steven Chase, Chris Hazen, Dean Kramer, Cassandra Larsen, Rene Lehman, James McCarthy, Andrew Minster, Jim Peglow, Chris Peters, Seth Piencikowski, Brenda Porrey, Justin Stanke, Terry Stults, Don Wick, Jesse Wiegert, Dawn Winrich, Stan Winrich and Scott Young.
The group includes seven female instructors and four junior instructors.
The instructors certified 451 students in 2019, including 405 were Internet Field Day students and 46 traditional classroom students.
