James “Jim” Handferd Colden, age 66 of Waupaca, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2020.
Jim was born on March 16, 1954, the son of Handferd and Beatrice Colden. Jim graduated from Waupaca High School Class of 1972. Things didn’t come easy for Jim, but he always tried and throughout his life he showed everyone his huge heart and gentle soul. Nothing made him happier than becoming an uncle and great-uncle and enjoyed being wrapped around their little fingers. Jim became his grandparent’s official driver in their later years and enjoyed taking them anywhere they wanted to go. He worked at Simpson’s Restaurant for over 40 years until he was forced to retire because of health concerns. He enjoyed his job and was always willing to work, even on his days off. The last few years were a struggle with Lewy Body Dementia taking over his body and mind, but he never lost his tender heart.
Jim is survived by his siblings, Wayne Colden and Mary Colden, both of Waupaca; nephew Andrew (Jennifer Angsten) Colden, Waupaca; great-nieces and nephew Alexis (Ryan Johnston) Colden, Madison; Veronica Murray, Pittsburgh and Bailey Colden, Waupaca; bonus great-nieces and nephews, Brooklyn, Denver, Dymorie and Keagan; uncle Frank Haffner, Menasha and cousins, Rosemary, Bob and Danielle. He is preceded in death by his parents.
