Bucholtz, Gladys Jane

Gladys Jane Bucholtz, age 88, of Weyauwega, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home in King due to Covid-19.

She was born on January 26, 1932 on the family farm south of Weyauwega, daughter of the late Emil and Emma (Doede) Hoger. She attended Evanswood School, St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Grade School, where she was confirmed, and graduated from Weyauwega High School in 1950. On October 24, 1953, she was united in marriage to Roland M. Bucholtz at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church, where she was a lifelong member. They farmed outside of Weyauwega until Rollie’s passing in 1995. After being diagnosed with dementia, she stayed on the farm as long as she could and then went to King on January 9, 2020. Gladie enjoyed being outside, working in her flower beds, feeding and watching the birds, and loved her cats. She loved country music and was able to see many country stars perform. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow. She was a member of St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in Weyauwega.

She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (James) Hartfiel; sons, Lonnie Bucholtz and Scott (Tammy) Bucholtz, all of Weyauwega; grandchildren: Andee and Casey Hartfiel, Weyauwega; Mitchell (Heidi) Hartfiel, Waupaca; Erin Hartfiel, New London; Tana (Mike) Hartfiel, Iola; Danielle (Craig) Hokenstad, Iola; great-grandson, Hayden Hartfiel, Waupaca; sister, Irene Steeps, Ripon; also nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her infant son Ricky, a sister Adeline Baird, and two brothers, Kenneth and Darrell Hoger.

A private Christian Funeral will be held for Gladys at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Weyauwega with Rev. Aaron Kristopeit officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega.

The family would like to thank the staff at Ainsworth Hall in King for their kind and compassionate care of Gladys.
