Pandemic has killed 87 in Waupaca County

Nation reports 242,000 covid deaths

Waupaca County Health officials reported 59 new COVID-19 cases in a single day on Thursday, Nov. 12.

The county’s record for new cases reported in a single day was 99 cases on Nov. 7.

As of Nov. 12, a total of 87 people have died in Waupaca County from the pandemic.

In the past 30 days, COVID-19 has killed 56 people in Waupaca County.

Nearly 600 new cases have been reported in Waupaca County since the beginning of November.

Waupaca County has reported a cumulative total of 3,280 cases since reporting on the pandemic began in March.

Statewide, there have been 309,5712 confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 reported as Nov. 12, according to the Wisconsin Health Services Department.

Of those, 295,388 cases have been confirmed.

Wisconsin has reported 2,515 confirmed covid-related deaths and 106 probable covid deaths.

Statewide, the covid-related death rate is 0.9% or 43.5 deaths per 100,000 people.

Waupaca County’s death rate is 2% or 123.7 per 100,000 people.

In Wisconsin, 16.5% of its population is age 65 years and older, while 21.3% of Waupaca County’s population is 65 or older, according to 2019 U.S. Census Bureau estimates.

As of Nov. 12, the United States has reported 242,000 COVID-19 deaths and 10.5 million COVID-19 cases.
