Wolf River Community Bank sponsors holiday float
Wolf River Community Bank will bring Santa through residential areas of Hortonville, New London, Greenville, and Shiocton during the week of Dec. 7.
The Santa Float allows onlookers to wave from their homes or from the sidewalk in a safe and socially distanced manner.
Local police and fire department members will accompany the float through the communities.
This event is happening in lieu of the bank’s annual Santa at the Bank as a more covid-friendly alternative.
“Since we can’t invite our communities in for Santa at the Bank this year, we’re bringing some holiday cheer into our neighborhoods,” said Joe Peikert, Wolf River Community Bank president and CEO. “Being a community bank sometimes means getting creative with the ways we give back to the communities that support the bank.”
“In light of the current pandemic, it’s awesome to see how our local businesses are stepping up and finding creative ways to continue connecting with the community. It really shows how much they care,” said New London City Administrator Chad Hoerth. “COVID-19 is not stopping this Santa Claus from coming to town.”
Santa Float Schedule
• Hortonville – at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7.
• Greenville – at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, starting at the fire station, ending at Lions Park.
• Shiocton – at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9.
• New London – at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, starting at the fire station, ending at the Waters Supper Club.
Community members will be able to track Santa as he travels through town using the bank’s “Santa Tracker” tool, which will be updated each day of the event.
