Adopt a trail
Volunteers needed in Manawa
By Ann Wade
Organizers of the Little Wolf River Trail are asking for the Manawa community’s help to maintain the trail system.
The Stampede Run/Walk that is held every year during rodeo weekend is the only organized fundraising effort that directly benefits the trails. COVID-19 caused this year’s Stampede to be canceled.
The trails cannot just shut down because the fundraiser was canceled, so the trail committee is calling the community to action.
Volunteers and the committee take care of any maintenance the trails need, include weeding, getting debris off the trails or even trimming back tall grass and weeds.
None of the city budget is allocated to this area, so the committee depends on the kindness of the community to help keep these trails beautiful.
The committee seeks some more volunteers adopt a portion of the trail system and help with weeding or clearing debris.
Donations can be sent to Little Wolf River Trail, P.O. Box 121, Manawa, WI 54949. Make checks payable to WCNRF (Waupaca County Natural Resources Foundation).
