Cady, Arden Gene

Arden Gene Cady, age 88 of Ogdensburg, WI sadly passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
He was born in the Town of Dayton, Waupaca County, WI on October 17, 1932, son of the late Harold and Ella (Lucht) Cady. He married Beverly Huebner on October 8, 1955 in Waupaca, WI.
Arden enlisted in the United States Army on December 17, 1951 and served until December 21, 1953. He served in the Korean War for 15 months and 12 days. He was discharged from Fort Sheridan, IL as a Sergeant MPC Officer. He received many awards including Korean Service ribbon with two bronze service stars, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged from the Army on January 10, 1960.
He worked at New London Plywood Lumber Company in New London, WI and then at A Sturm & Sons in Manawa, WI for many years until he retired. He had many interests including turkey and deer hunting, fishing, gardening, and canning. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and playing card games, especially solitaire; he also loved playing poker and Go Fish with his great-grandchildren.
Arden is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beverly of Ogdensburg; sons, Ray (Michelle) and Jerry Cady both of Ogdensburg; sister, Mardell Boehm of New London; grandchildren, Heather (Michael) Leif, Patricia (Jeremy Pomerenke), Amy (Jeffrey) Rausch, Missy (Joe Durrant) and Erin Cady; great-grandchildren, Christopher (Alexis), Ezekiel, Bryce, Emily, Lillyana, Avalayah, Amiyah, Minton, Finnley, EllaMae Rausch; Hailee and Michael Leif; great-great-grandchildren, Luke Rausch and baby Joseph Rausch, whom is due later this month; sister-in-law, Shirley Cady. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter Lorraine; infant brother Roland; brothers, Lowell, Wilmer “Stringbean”, Arnold “Charlie”, Lyle and LaVern; nephew, Vance Cady; and sisters-in-law, Gwen Cady and Beverly Smith Cady.
