Felonious spitting charged

Suspect accused of threatening officer

Richard A. Robl, 49, Oshkosh, is charged with spitting at an officer, threatening an officer, misdemeanor theft and disorderly conduct.

On Nov. 22, the owner of Hotel Fremont called Fremont police to report that someone stole an employee’s cooler.

Video surveillance showed a man, identified as Robl, take the cooler from the hotel and place it in the back seat of his car.

A Fremont officer and Waupaca County deputy responded to the complaint.

According to the criminal complaint, Robl became argumentative with the officers and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

The deputy who transported Robl to the county jail, reported: “During this time he expressed several times to me that he wished I would have a heart attack and die and also that my wife would die.”

Robl allegedly spit at the deputy several times, hitting the divider between the front and back sets of the squad car.

Robl was released from custody on a $1,000 signature bond.

He is scheduled for his next court appearance on Jan. 22.
