Stiebs, Janet Faith

Janet Faith Stiebs, age 96, of New London, went to her heavenly home on Friday, January 1, 2021 to be with her Saviour.

Janet was born in Royalton on November 26, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas and LilaMae (Marcy) Hobbs. She was united in marriage to Leonard Stiebs of New London on September 17, 1941. Together they were married 52 years. Janet was employed at Markman’s Grocery Store in New London for 42 years, retiring at the age of 80, at which time the store closed. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. Janet enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Her specialty was her cookies and her kit kat bars. She loved to read, tend to her flowers, and feed and watch the hummingbirds. Janet also loved playing cards, and better yet, winning and taking your money.

Janet is survived by her son, Dale (Laura) Stiebs; daughters: Sandra (Terry) Magolski, Jeannie (Ron) Werth, Diane (Jeff) Rodgers, Connie (Tom) Verbick, and Shiela (Gary) Feaval; grandchildren: Jodi (Magolski) Klosterman, Wendy (Magolski) Bohlmann, Jason Magolski, Kory Claassen, Katrina (Claassen) Hacker, Buck Rodgers, Dylan Rodgers, Destiny Rodgers, Amanda Stiebs, Dustin Christian, Dominique Christian, Jennifer Boldt, and Candy Poehls; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Mathewson and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; daughter, Darlene; grandsons, Kelly Claassen and Andrew Stiebs; brothers, Bud and Calvin; sisters, Ina, June, Lorraine, and Eula, and father and mother-in-law, Ed and Clara Stiebs.
