Bonduel had the better record, but Clintonville ended up getting the win.

The Clintonville boys’ basketball team scored the first 13 points and went on to post a 62-47 nonconference win over the Bears Jan. 4 at Clintonville High School.

Clintonville evened its overall record at 5-5, while Bonduel fell to 4-2.

Bonduel never recovered from the early 13-point deficit. The Bars used a 7-0 run to cut the Truckers’ lead to 18-11 later in the first half, but Clintonville headed into the locker room at halftime with a 29-19 lead.

Bonduel was able to get within five points twice in the second half. Carson Robaidek’s basket cut the lead to 40-35, but the Truckers answered with an 8-2 run to push the lead back to 11 and Bonduel never got any closer than nine points the rest of the way.

Clintonville’s Cameron Mauel led all scorers with 16 points, while Brayden Branstrom and Nathan Morse also finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Reece Stoltenow led Bonduel with 12 points.

The Truckers will return to North Eastern Conference play at home Thursday, Jan. 7, against Marinette.
