Meth bust on Main Street

Three charged following police search

Prosecutors filed felony drug charges against three people living in a downtown Waupaca apartment.

Tearineye EP Turrbiates, 21, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor child neglect and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jessica L. Malone, 43, is charged with possession of methamphetamine as party to a crime, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of drug paraphernalia and three counts of felony bail jumping.

Joseph A. Gill, 31, is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Jan. 5, Waupaca police and Waupaca County deputies executed a search warrant at Malone’s residence on the 200 block of North Main Street in Waupaca.

As they approached the residence from Cooper Street, officers found Malone in a parked car and detained her.

When they entered Malone’s residence, officers reported seeing Turrbiates enter a bathroom. They ordered her to exit the bathroom.

According to the criminal complaint, Waupaca Police Officer Thomas Grant found a loaded syringe in this bathroom.

Three people were in the apartment when police arrived.

In addition to Turrbiates, police located her 3-year-old daughter hiding under a table. They found Gill in one of the bedrooms.

Gill reportedly told police he was homeless and had been staying in the apartment for the past few days.

In a second, larger bathroom, officers reported finding crystal meth, two butane lighters and burnt tinfoil.
Waupaca Police Officer Nicole Hahn found suspected meth wrapped in a $20 bill in Turrbiates’ sweatshirt.
After Gill left the residence, officers found two black jackets that allegedly belonged to Gill. Meth was found in the jacket pockets.

Turrbiates was released from custody after posting a $1,000 cash bond.

Malone remains in custody on a $2,500 cash bond.

The court has issued a warrant for Gill’s arrest.
