Vehicle crashes into school bus

Driver of car airlifted to hospital

A car rear ended a school bus at 3:32 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, in the town of Larrabee.

According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office, the Clintonville school bus was northbound on State Highway 22. The bus came to a stop at Autumn Street with its warning lights activated.

A car that was also northbound struck the rear of the bus.

The front of the car became lodged under the bus.

Clintonville firefighters extricated the driver of the car.

ThedaStar airlifted him to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah for treatment of his injuries.

The school bus was transporting 14 students, with one child sustaining minor injuries.

The Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Clintonville Police, Clintonville Fire Department, Clintonville Ambulance and EMR, and ThedaStar.

The crash remains under investigation.
