Contested races for New London School Board

By John Faucher

Six candidates are running for three New London School Board seats in the April 6 spring election.

Incumbent board members Connie Neely, Terry Wegner and Mark Grossman are seeking re-election to another three-year term.

Three residents of the district have also declared candidacy for the election.

Ben Wickersheim from the town of Dale, Erich Korth from the town of Caledonia, and Katie Batten of Mukwa will join the three incumbents on the ballot.

New London School Board members are elected at large and do not represent wards or electoral districts.

The school district of New London covers 144 square miles in three counties with an estimated tax base of $1 billion dollars.

The district has approximately 18,000 residents.
