Woman charged for overdose

Police say suspect sold meth allegedly laced with fentanyl

Angelina M. Schierland, 32, Waupaca, is charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, felony delivery of narcotics, felony delivery of methamphetamine and mmisdemeanor bail jumping.

On Saturday, Jan. 23, Waupaca Police Officer Thomas Grant learned a drug deal took place in Waupaca, and the buyer experienced an overdose in Plover.

When Plover police interviewed the victim, he said he met Schierland and her male friend at Schueller’s Great Exspechtations in Waupaca.

They talked about heroin and cocaine.

According to the criminal complaint, Schierland and her friend left the bar.

Later that night, the victim met them in the parking lot of Victory Church on Apple Tree Lane in Waupaca.

Security video from the church showed a white Chevy Impala and a red Saturn Ion pull into the parking lot shortly after 10 p.m.

The two vehicles parked next to each other, facing opposite directions, with the passenger doors side by side.

Investigators surmise the white sedan belongs to the victim’s friend, who gave him a ride from the bar, while Schierland and her friend were in the Saturn.

Plover police downloaded data from the victim’s cellphone and found evidence Schierland and the victim had been communicating prior to meeting in the church parking lot.

In one of the messages, Schierland allegedly asked the victim if he had any Narcan.

Because the victim responded to the Narcan after he overdosed, police suspect the meth was laced with fentanyl.

Waupaca County Circuit Court issued a warrant for Schierland’s arrest on Feb. 9.
