Mary Anne Strite, age 82 of New London, passed away peacefully with her family and friends by her side on Monday, March 15, 2021.
She was born on February 4, 1939, daughter of the late Hilbert and Helen (Daniel) Kern in St. Genevieve, Missouri. Mary graduated from Logansport High School, Indiana, and later from Purdue University, Indiana with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and Aerodynamics. She was united in marriage to Lewis “Ed” Strite on July 6, 1963. Mary was a member of New Life Community Church in New London, WI. She was a lifetime member of Am Vets, American Legion, and VFW Auxiliary, including holding offices as past President of the Legion Auxiliary and currently Assistant Chaplain of the Legion Auxiliary.
Mary is survived by her husband Ed; other relatives; cousins Sue and Vicky Webb; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Hilbert A. Kern, Jr.
Funeral services for Mary will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday March 19, 2021 at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London. Rev. Bill Bartel will be officiating. A Ladies Auxiliary Tribute will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held on Friday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
