Allen R. Smith, age 78, of Waupaca, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021.
He was born in Waupaca, WI on May 22, 1942 to the late Russell and Rose (Churas) Smith. Allen graduated in 1965 from UW Madison with a bachelor’s degree in science. He began his career at Carnation Can and worked there until 1975. He then ran a dairy farm until 1992 when the cows were sold. After farming, he worked for the Wood Model Shop in Scandinavia. He loved woodworking and created some beautiful pieces.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Seavers of Milwaukee; a grandson, Jordan; great-granddaughter, Sydney; brothers, Wayne and Edward Smith, both of Waupaca; and sisters, Annette (Richard) Rietz of Arizona and Jane Kietzer of Lomira. Allen is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A gathering for family and friends is being planned on Allen’s birthday. The Maple Crest Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
