Finch, Harold “Pete” Mark

Harold “Pete” Mark Finch, age 70, of Iola, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 after a long fight with cancer.

He was born on October 2, 1950 in Iola, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Jeanine (Akey) Finch. On February 26, 1970 he married Roberta “Lynn” Bloom in Milwaukee. They celebrated 51 years of marriage. After starting their life together in Milwaukee, Pete and Lynn moved back to Iola in 1980. Pete worked for a few years as a mason before starting his career at the Waupaca Foundry, where he retired from. Pete enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially when hunting with his brother, sons and grandson. Pete liked to work with his hands and did most remodeling and home projects himself. He also shared his “perfectionism” – helping his kids with projects at their homes. Pete and Lynn enjoyed going for rides to see the scenery and animals in the area. Pete also loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and having a Miller High Life Light with his boys. If asked how he was doing – he would often respond “fat and sassy” – always giving his grandkids a smile.

Pete is survived by his wife, Roberta “Lynn” Finch; two sons, Mark (Dawn) Finch of Iola, Tom (Donna) Finch of Iola; daughter, Tammy (Brett) Longman of Iola; grandchildren: Kali, Karena, Ryan, Rachel, Emily and Brianna Finch and Austyn, Cadi, and Clayton Longman. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas (Carol) Finch of Scandinavia and sister, Susan Finch. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jeanine (Akey) Finch as well as his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Marliss Bloom.

Pete/Dad/Grandpa/Papa will forever be missed by his wife, sons, daughters, grandchildren, brother, sister-in-law and extended family as well as many friends.

A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me, remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Online condolences can be given at www.voiefuneralhome.com.
