Continued mask use advised

Vaccinations widely available on April 5

In light of the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling which ultimately nullified the statewide mask mandate, Waupaca County Public Health advises residents to continue utilizing masks and to follow CDC guidelines to help prevent COVID-19 spread.

Masks are a proven and important prevention strategy to combat COVID-19, according to Jed Wohlt, the county public health officer.

“While vaccinations are underway, it’s important to continue to follow masking, social distancing, and hand washing recommendations as we continue to experience COVID-19 cases and see variants in our region,” Wohlt said in a press release Friday, April 2.

Beginning Monday, April 5, vaccinations will be available to everyone 16 years of age and older.

Visit the county’s vaccination website to find local vaccine providers and to schedule a vaccination appointment with Waupaca County Public Health.
