Harold “Harry” E. DeWolfe, age 92, of Waupaca, passed away peacefully at ThedaCare of Waupaca on Saturday, April 3, 2021.

He was born August 11, 1928 to Clayton Francis and Zeda Fern (Weaver) DeWolfe in Green Bay. On September 16, 1950 he was united in marriage to Jean G. Kysely at the First Congregational Church in Shiocton. Harold graduated from Green Bay West High School. He found his career at Wisconsin Public Service for 38 years in Oshkosh, Waupaca and Green Bay working as a lineman, estimator and estimating methods supervisor, making many friends along the way. He belonged to and was a past member of the Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. 123 of Waupaca. He also served as Town Supervisor for the Town of Waupaca for six years. Harold’s bright smile and cheerful personality will be missed by many. His love for nature and wildlife was recreated in his paintings and wood carvings. Harold was an avid hunter, often waking up the house with, “It’s daylight in the swamp.” He especially enjoyed bowhunting and was a lifetime member of Wisconsin Bowhunter Association. At the age of 85, he shot his last buck with a compound bow and was still climbing tree stands. Harold was an avid Packer fan attending many games; he loved his Bart Starr. He also had a love for Golden Retrievers and genealogy. Harold was known for his determination and always willing to learn despite his age.

Harold will be sadly missed by his wife of 70 years, Jean, and his children: Harry of Hagermann, ID, David (Joan) of Rice Lake, WI, Jeff (Lori) of Buckeye, AZ and Mary (Bradley) Staats of Appleton, WI. He is further survived by a sister, Karen (Ray) Shuma of Green Bay, WI; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Austin, Jacci, Clint (Megan), Jeff, Travis, Lindsay and Kelsey DeWolfe; step grandchildren, Andrew and Brian Staats; six loving nieces and nephews, their spouses and many friends. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Clayton Albert; his brother, Don DeWolfe; sister-in-law, Louise DeWolfe; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Kysely.

The family would like to give a special thank you to emergency room doctors, Dr. Hampton and Dr. Purdy for their kindness to Harold. Also, to the staff and nurses at the hospital for their care at this difficult time.

According to Harold’s wishes, no services will be held. He was laid to rest at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay. Memorials may be directed to ThedaCare at Home Hospice in Harold’s name. The Maple Crest Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
