May, Lois A.

Lois A. May, age 92 of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday evening, April 20, 2021 at the ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah.

Lois Annette Salzmann was born on February 4, 1929 in the Town of Pella, Shawano County. She was the youngest of nine children of Arthur and Minnie (Anderson) Salzmann. Lois graduated from Shawano High School and having an adventurous spirit moved to California where she met Eugene Mullens. The couple were united in marriage and moved to Illinois until Eugene’s death just a short while later. Lois then moved back home to the Clintonville area where she became an Executive Secretary at the Seagrave FWD Corporation. While at work, she caught the eye of Oscar May who also worked for Seagrave. The couple were wed on August 27, 1960 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church and were inseparable ever since. They were both very active members of the now named United Methodist Church in Clintonville where Lois volunteered often and enjoyed singing with the Bell Choir. Lois and Oscar were very close with their nieces and nephews; making them feel like their own children. Oscar preceded Lois in death on January 30, 2010 and altered her life immensely. Lois was very routine oriented and could always find peace by spending time near the Embarrass River on her home farm. She loved being outdoors; whether it was gardening or just watching the deer, eagles, loons and other wildlife. Her strong faith and love of family will always be remembered.

Survivors include: numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Also a sister-in-law, Wanda Schwartz. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Eugene and Oscar, and by siblings: Roy Salzmann, Eena Eggert, Theda Olson, Lloyd Salzmann, Ralph Salzman, Thelma Wied, Verna O’Connell, and Glenn Salzmann.
