Hoehne, Eileen May

Eileen May Hoehne, 84, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at her home.

Eileen was born May 1, 1936 at her home in the Town of Saxville, Waushara County. Her parents were Leonard and Clara (Handrich) Niemuth. She attended and graduated from Christ Ev. Lutheran grade school in West Bloomfield in 1950 and Weyauwega High School in 1954. She earned a bachelor of science degree in Home Economics Education in 1958 from the Wisconsin State College in Stevens Point. She began her teaching career as a Home Economics Instructor at Wausaukee High School in 1958. Throughout the years she taught Home Economics at Westfield, Tomah, Elroy, and Lena. On June 22, 1963, Eileen married Charles P. Roberts at Christ Ev. Church in West Bloomfield. They made their home at a little cottage on Chute Pond near Mountain, WI. Charles tragically passed away in an automobile accident on September 7, 1968. Eileen continued her education and earned a Master of Science degree in home Economics Education from the University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point in 1972. On July 14, 1973 Eileen married Robert F. Hoehne at First Presbyterian Church, Oconto. They made their home on Hoehne Ln. Near Oconto and were active members of First Presbyterian Church. Eileen enjoyed gardening, crafts, sewing, and entertaining family and friends at their home and cottage. After Robert’s death on October 15, 2005, Eileen retired to their cottage at Chute Pond, but continued membership with her many friends at First Presbyterian Church in Oconto.

Eileen is survived by three sisters, Annette (Jim) Saxon, New Berlin; Leila (Larry) Buttke, Cadott; Carla (David) Kuehni, Luck; two brothers, Daniel Niemuth, Hustisford; Charles (Charlene) Niemuth, Waupaca; and many special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Besides her parents and husbands, she was further preceded in death by three sisters, Anita (Harold) Wager, Alice (Paul) Oehlke, and Betty (Raymond) Bourassa; two brothers, Allen (Lucinda) Niemuth and Robert Niemuth; and sister-in-law, Linda Niemuth.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 3 to 5 PM Friday, May 7, 2021. Funeral services will be conducted 5 PM Friday at the church with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
