Soccer team shuts out Antigo

After opening the season with a North Eastern Conference loss, the Waupaca girls’ soccer team bounced back with a win over Antigo.

The Comets handed the Red Robins a 4-0 loss May 7 one day after opening the season with a 5-1 home loss to Marinette.

Waupaca 4, Antigo 0

The Comets added to their 1-0 halftime lead with three unanswered goals in the second half to pick up the nonconference win over the Red Robins.

Marinette 5, Waupaca 1

Koressa Allegeyer and Riley Hansen each scored twice for Marinette, while Allison Hulce also found the net for the Marines.

The Comets returned to North Eastern play May 11 in Denmark and are scheduled to host Wrightstown at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 13, at Comet Field.
