Wolves drop first game

Manawa falls to Bowler

Bowler handed the Manawa baseball team its first loss May 17.

The Wolves fell to 9-1 on the season with a 6-5 loss to the Panthers in a matchup of Central Wisconsin Conference North Division teams.
Manawa also picked up a 5-0 win over Marion May 13.

Bowler 6, Manawa 5

Deion Stroud led Manawa with two hits, but also took the loss after giving up four runs in only two-thirds of an inning on the mound.
Stroud, Adam Zielke, Ethan Tellock and Sawyer Strebe drove in runs for Marion.

Manawa 5, Marion 0

Manawa took a 3-0 lead into the second inning before adding runs in the third and sixth.

Tanner Nienhaus went the distance to pick up the win and also scored two of the Wolves’ runs.

Riley Krenke, Strebe and Stroud had a hit and also scored a run.

The Wolves hosted Amherst May 18 and will host Northland Lutheran/Wisconsin Valley Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, May 20. The team will also head to Rosholt Saturday, May 22, for a triangular with the Hornets and Bonduel.

Manawa will face Bonduel at 12:30 p.m. and wrap up the day against Rosholt at 3 p.m.
