Bulldogs sweep Waupaca County Meet

For a few minutes, all eyes were on Kyle Wisniewski.

The New London sophomore had just set a new school record with a height of 6 feet, 6 inches in the boys’ high jump event May 22 at the Waupaca County Meet at Weyauwega-Fremont High School.

He made three unsuccessful attempts after the bar was raised to 6 feet, 8 inches, but the Bulldogs still went on to win the boys’ and girls’ championships at the meet, which featured six of the county’s seven high school track programs.

Team scores for the boys were New London (166), Waupaca (130), Manawa (107.5), Iola-Scandinavia (103.5), Clintonville (76) and Weyauwega-Fremont (74).

New London completed the sweep with 181 points in the girls’ competition, followed by Weyauwega-Fremont (160), Manawa (155), Clintonville (69), Waupaca (44) and Iola-Scandinavia (14).
