Hutchinson House hosts ‘Lost Arts’

Museum event features vintage crafts, hobbies

Step back in time as the Waupaca Historical Society hosts “Lost Arts” at the Hutchinson House Museum from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 26.

The event will feature arts, crafts and hobbies common in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Demonstrators will show how they are keeping these arts alive – from wood carving and spinning wool to basket-weaving, rug-hooking and needle felting.

Families can take part in family activities like weaving and quill writing, along with other interactive demonstrations.

Visitors can also enjoy local band Flip o’ the Coin as they play old-time music from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on the Hutchinson House porch.

Tours of the historic home will be offered throughout the day. The Waupaca Historical Society will also have a brat fry with food and beverages for sale.

Hutchinson House is located in South Park on South Main Street in Waupaca.
