Civil War re-enactment this weekend

Skirmishes, artillery and cavalry demonstrations planned in New London
The New London Heritage Historical Village at 900 Montgomery St. will host a Civil War re-enactment from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and Sunday, June 26-27,
Event organizers are hoping for 60 to 80 re-enactors to participate.
A Civil War era field hospital will be set up inside and around the village’s historic log cabin. Other buildings within the village will also be open to the public.
Additional highlights will include infantry drill demonstrations, presentations on natives and the civil war, artillery demonstrations, cavalry demonstrations and live skirmishes.
Artillery demonstrations will feature two 6-pound cannons.
Additional demonstrations include Civil War era medical care, washer woman demonstrations, a village church service Sunday and dress parades at the close of both days.
Admission is $6 for adults, seniors age 62 and older $5 and children ages 6 to 17 are $3.
