Dailey, Kaylene Adela

Kaylene Adela Dailey, age 79 of New London, passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, just two days after her brother Doug.

Kaylene was born on August 18, 1941 in New London to the late Leon and Adela (Rohloff) Thoma. She was raised on the Thoma Farm in New London. Kaylene was united in marriage to Robert Dailey on October 20, 1962 in Sugar Bush. Together they raised four boys and loved being involved in every aspect of their lives. Kaylene worked for the New London School District for 40 years. The later years were spent as a library assistant at Sugar Bush Elementary, where she loved working with children and made many friends. Bob and Kaylene cherished time spent at their cabin in Phelps, often entertaining numerous friends and family, which most likely included a fish fry. Thanksgiving was her favorite holiday, where she hosted the big feast for many friends, family and anyone else who had no plans. Kaylene enjoyed gardening and canning, which she shared with others, playing cards, baking and going on trips with her sisters. As a longtime member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, she participated in Ladies Evening Circle, Altar Guild and visiting members that were shut-in.

Kaylene is survived by her husband, Bob of 58 years; her four sons: Scott (Brenda) Dailey, Paul (Lisa) Dailey, Eric (Terra Meinen) Dailey and Ross (Ann) Dailey; six grandchildren: Torrie Dailey, Kelsie (Cody Keleske) Dailey, Jordan Dailey, Lauren (Kyle) Flease, Kirsten (Nate Volz) Dailey and McKenna Dailey; great-grandbaby Flease on the way; sisters, Karen (Wilfred) Grieser and Glenna (Tom) Bleck; sisters-in-law, Joanne Thoma and Judi Thoma and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Barb Dailey. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Kaylene was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Doug and Steve Thoma.

The Christian Funeral for Kaylene will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Ruckdashel Cemetery, Town of Lebanon.
