Anderson, James “Jim” W.

James “Jim” W. Anderson, age 79 of Pearson, formerly of Clintonville, passed away Sunday morning, July 11, 2021 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

James Wyman Anderson was born on December 19, 1941 in New London as the son of the late Seth and Mary (Cheney) Anderson. He grew up in the North Freedom area and moved to Clintonville with his father. Jim earned his GED while serving his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his discharge, Jim was united in marriage to Georgia Mavis on October 3, 1962 at the St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. The couple lived in Clintonville prior to moving to the Cloverleaf Lakes, and then moved to the Pearson area in the late 1980s where they have lived since. Jim was an accomplished mason during his working career. One of his biggest projects was helping with the exterior masonry work on St. Martin Lutheran Church in Clintonville. His family commented that there wasn’t a road in the greater Clintonville and Shawano area that they could drive down with Jim where he wasn’t pointing out a past job memory. Jim was a faithful member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake where he served as an usher and volunteered his time helping with various maintenance projects. Each year around Christmas time he would look forward to ringing the bells for the Salvation Army; a cause near to his heart. Jim was an outdoorsman. He spent his free time snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and enjoyed a good days work cutting firewood. Jim enjoyed watching sports and looked forward to his weekly sheepshead game with friends at the Walleye Lodge. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather and was always there for his grandchildren’s important events.

Survivors include: his wife, Georgia; children, Mary (Greg) Wenner and Michael (Tracy) Anderson; granddaughters: Megan (Herman) Chiu, Taren (Nick Hansen) Beyer, McKayla Wenner, and Jadyn Wenner; great-grandchildren, Aspen Beyer and Arlan Chiu. Jim is also survived by his chocolate lab and faithful companion, Molly.
