She was born in Rosiere, WI on January 22, 1943, a daughter of the late Harvey and Grace (LeGrave) LeMense. “She was our touchstone and our grounding force guiding us.” Nancy earned her Bachelor’s Degree in education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, where she met her first husband Joseph Eich. They were married on December 26, 1964. He preceded her in death on January 5, 1989. She then married Dennis Peissig on August 22, 1999. Nancy’s love language was doing acts of kindness and service to others. She never said no when asked to do a sewing project or knit a pair of slippers. She was also an accomplished quilter. Nancy always generously shared her gifts and talents with others, from sewing hundreds of face masks for Head Start students to hemming a neighbor’s pants. She loved those around her unconditionally and with fierce loyalty through her listening ears and her supportive words. She saw the world through unselfish eyes and had an overwhelming passion for the human race. Nancy just knew how good we can all be. As grandma, Nancy played her greatest role as the biggest supporter of her four grandchildren.
