Marvin “Marv” LeRoy Shively, age 91 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Bethany Home.
Marv was born on March 20, 1930, son of David and Alice Shively in EauClaire, WI. Marv’s birth dad was killed by lightning when Marv was three years old. Marv’s mother, Alice then married Richard Stelter who treated Marv as his own. Marv was a machine repairman by trade. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t make or fix. In his retirement years he enjoyed working in his yard and taking care of his flower gardens, especially his roses. He loved woodworking and made many beautiful pieces for family and friends.
Marv is survived by his wife, Judy Shively; daughter, LeeAnnette (Mike) Schmidmayr; son, David Shively; stepchildren, Mark (Marisa) Schlehlein, MaryKay (Jim) Johnson, Kathy Berger; grandchildren: Abby (Nick) Bober, Ben Schlehlein, Becca (Joey) Hilby, Kelley (Cameron) Shaw, Claire (Carlos) Carrisales; brother, Clete; sisters, Shirley Gehling, Esther, Mary and Naomia; sisters-in-law, Pat Steffek, Barb (Bill) Maus, also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marv was preceded in death by his father, David; mother, Alice; stepfather, Richard; his first wife, Virginia, and a brother, Jerry.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Waupaca, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the Church. Burial will be held at a later date at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
